Order of Procedure

 The Lodge Luangwa No 4820 will be opened in the first degree.

  1. The dispensation for the meeting shall be read.
  2. Visitors will be admitted.
  3. The Lodge Luangwa will be opened in the second and third degrees.
  4. District Grand officers of the English and Sister Constitutions will be admitted.
  5. The R.W. Deputy Grand master and Grand Officers of the English and Sister Constitutions will enter in procession.
  6. The following W.Brethren will assume office under the direction of the Grand Director of Ceremonies:
  • as Deputy District Grand Master A.C.Annfield, D.G.M. for Zambia S.C.
  • as Senior Warden Bro A.J.Johnson, P.A.G.G. Std.B.
  • as Junior Warden W Bro M.Brin, P.G Std.B.
  • as Chaplain W Bron Canon Easton, P.P.G. Chap (Leic & Rutland)
  • as Secretary W Bro J.W.Stubbs, Grand Sec.
  • as Director of Ceremonies W Bro F.W.R.Douglas, G.D.C., P.G.W.
  • as Senior Deacon W Bro F.W.Mack, D.G.J.W.(Rhod.)
  • as Junior Deacon W Bro Padkin, G. Inspector for Zambia, I.C.
  • as Pursuivant W Bro T.Trewavas, P.D.G.W. (Rhod.)

  1. The R.W.Deputy Grand Master will read a message from the M.W. The Grand master establishing the District Grand Lodge of Zambia which will proceed in open form
  2. The R.W. Deputy Grand Master will be saluted.
  3. The roll call of Lodges will be called.
  4. The R.W. Deputy Grand Master will address the brethren
  5. The arrival of the District Grand Master designate, W Bro Eric Stanley Speck will be announced.
  6. The R.W Deputy Grand Master will instruct the Grand Director of Ceremonies to retire and ask the District Grand Master designate for his Patent, which on his return he will present to the R.W.Deputy District Grand Master.
  7. The R.W.Deputy Grand Master, having examined the Patent, will direct a deputation of seven Masters or Past Masters to retire with the Grand Director of Ceremonies, and introduce the District Grand Master designate.
  8. The Grand Secretary will be directed to read the Patent.
  9. The Deputy Grand Master will address the District Grand Master designate and enquire if he can conscientiously undertake the duties of the office.
  10. Prayer by the Acting District Grand Chaplain.
  11. The District Grand master designate will advance to the Pedestal, kneel and take the Obligation, after which he will be invested and placed in the Chair.
  12. The Deputy Grand master will be conducted to the Chair on the right of the R.W.District Grand Master.
  13. The Grand Director of Ceremonies will proclaim the R.W.District Grand Master and call on the Brethren to salute him.
  14. The R.W.District Grand Master will appoint his Deputy and request the Grand Secretary to read the Patent.
  15. The Deputy District Grand Master Designate will be conducted between two District Grand Deacons to the front of the Pedestal, and will be addressed by the R.W.District Grand Master on the duties of his office.
  16. The R.W.District Grand Master will obligate and invest the Deputy District Grand Master and place him in his chair.
  17. The Grand Director of Ceremonies will proclaim the Deputy District Grand Master and call on the Brethren to salute him.
  18. The District Grand Treasurer will be elected.
  19. The R.W.District Grand master will appoint and invest the other District Grand Officers.
  20. The District Grand officers will be saluted.
  21. The By-Laws of the District Grand Lodge will be submitted for approval.
  22. The R.W.District Grand Master will appoint two memebers to the District Board of General Purposes.
  23. Two members will be elected to the District Board of General Purposes.
  24. Resolutions and votes of thanks will be proposed and any other business deemed necessary to give effect to the special object of the meeting.
  25. District Grand Lodge will be closed in due form.
  26. The Worshipful Master and Officers of the Lodge Luangwa will resume their places.
  27. The R.W.Deputy Grand Master, the R.W.District Grand Master, Grand Officers and District Grand Officers will retire.
  28. The Lodge Luangwa will be closed.

Resolutions and Votes Of Thanks

The District Grand Master extended his thanks and the thanks of the District to the Deputy Grand Master and the accompanying Grand Officers for coming so far to perform the ceremony of his Installation.

The Deputy District Grand Master proposed a hearty vote of thanks to W.Bro.Padkin, Bro.Annfield and the brethren of the Sister Constitutions for their support and good wishes.

The District Grand Secretary reported that congratulations and apologies for non -attendance had been received from:

A collection taken in aid of charity amounted to £98.4.10d.

Closing

There being no other business the District Grand Lodge was closed in due form and the Officers of Lodge Luangwa resumed their chairs.

The R.W, District Grand Master accompanied by the R.W. Deputy Grand Master, the W. Deputy District Grand Master, the Grand Officers, the W.Grand Inspector for Zambia I.C., the R.W. District Grand Master of Zambia S.C. and the Officers of the District Grand Lodge of Zambia retired under the direction of the Grand Director of Ceremonies.

The Lodge Luangwa was closed and the brethren departed in peace and harmony at approximately 8.00p.m.
